There’s no You and the Universe.

You don’t have to behave.

You don’t have to listen to the Universe.

Or tell it what to do.

You don’t have to find its magic formula and work it endlessly, in order to open the secret doors to happiness and success.

The Universe is not watching you, trying to see if you’re doing the right thing, keeping the score, or punishing you for a lack of ambition.

It’s not nudging you, and not even guiding you.

Sorry.

It’s so simple.

A Universe that is looking at you?

For that to be possible, you’d have to be OUTSIDE of the Universe, right?

How would that even work?

The Universe would have to be an entity that is monitoring you (another entity) from a distance, constantly keeping track, judging you, helping you out, leaving hints and tracks, and seeing if you get what it’s trying to tell you.

Where would that leave you?

In a sub-Universe, an in-between Universe, maybe some sort of vacuum?

Uh.

Nope.

Simpler, simpler, simplest.

You ARE the Universe!

You are its creation, its being in everything that’s supposedly you.

And me.

It made you (and me) to explore and enjoy itself (I’m not sure if that’s true but it sounds pretty cool).

It made everything about you and the world you seem to live in, and it also keeps it working and evolving all the time.

It does that for you, through you, AS you.

Why would the Universe create you and then let you go, only to watch from a distance to see if you fuck up or do what you ‘need’ to do?

Sorry, again, sorry, sorry.

I know it’s a really romantic notion.

The idea of influencing and managing the Universe.

Getting it to listen to us.

Working really hard so the rewards will eventually come.

Visualize what you long for so the Universe will respond, like a giant divine Santa.

Being fully aligned with it.

But how could you NOT be aligned with the Universe?

It didn’t conceive you and left you on your own to find your way back in the dark.

It’s not mad at you, punishing you, keeping things away from you, or testing you.

You don’t have the responsibility to please it, to find out what it wants, to call for it, to beg, to plead, to make things happen.

There are not two things.

You’re not something apart from it.

The Universe is making you happen.

It’s already doing you.

And, to make this dream completely real and awesome, it’s ALSO doing the idea, the belief, the conviction, that you have to tell it what you want and then work for it.

The Universe created all that, all the perception of lack AND wealth, the idea of despair and desire and depression and delight.

Even the idea of You and the Universe.

It’s just an idea, though.

We’re like a puppet believing that it can control the puppeteer.

But, really:

You’ll never ever, EVER have to find out how to make the Universe like you.

It IS you.

You are it.
