I did it.
It was just a hunch, but Oh Boy, did it turn out to be a big one!
So when I pushed ‘send’ and the financial proposition went out toward a client-to-be, the old feeling was instantly there.
The sensation I dreaded, and always tried to avoid.
There was a sickening jolt, an immediate rush, a fierce injection of adrenaline and cortisol and all that stuff, straight into my body.
A warm tingling in my nervous system, somewhere close to my lower back.
I used to call it fear, and dread.
I used to avoid it.
I used to fucking hate it.
Until I decided to flip it.
I chose to love the feeling that I always believed to be fear, fear to keep me away from danger.
I decided to unmake the old connection.
Because the feeling actually tells me about upcoming adventures and fresh possibilities.
It IS a warning sign, for sure, but it warns me of growth, of learning, of getting to know myself better.
Of pending triumph, no matter what.
It’s an amazing feeling.
It’s automatically induced whenever I do something that seems to be just outside of my comfort zone, just beyond how much I value myself.
So it’s a special sensation, something I always feared until I realized that it simply makes me aware of possibilities.
The feeling tells me that I am playing fully in the world, that I am taking a risk, that I challenge myself, and that I’m taking a chance on getting a big-ass ‘NO’ from someone.
So what?
It used to represent rejection and worthlessness, but I am turning it into a sign of power and might.
Living with this feeling is living with the chance to expand.
The more I feel it and enjoy it, the more I grow, obviously.
The more and the deeper I feel it, and truly love it, the more I try and experiment.
It’s a great feeling.
It’s the feeling of succeeding.
I flipped the fear.
