Before my first coaching session this morning, I had a couple of insights, and I wrote them down.

Maybe they’re helpful for you.

‘What do I do now? I have to do SOMETHING!’

That’s the mind, only always.

It drives us forward, and sometimes it drives us crazy.

It’s obviously exactly what it’s supposed to do.

But what you do with its suggestions, is up for grabs.

‘Nothing’ is often perfect.

‘What will happen? And what do I have to do about it?’

The constant pre-thinking.

Making up scenarios and plans and blueprints.

Always working on future solutions.

For made-up problems.

It sucks.

And it’s mostly a waste of time.

‘No matter how much I know and experience and remember, the mind will always be insecure. The MIND is insecure.’

That’s really helpful to know.

The mind is insecure.

By nature.

By movement.

By what it is, really.

That’s an unsolvable predicament.

But waking up to your true nature will help tremendously because it will connect you to what ISN’T insecure.

Who you are, what you really are, is everything.

You ARE everything, playing small, pretending to be tiny.

The mind is nothing but a phenomenon within that everythingness.

It’s mostly full of shit.

(You’re not.)

‘Our minds are OBSESSED with being safe, now and in the future. But the one thing that creates a sense of unsafety… is the mind itself. The unsafety we run away from, is mentally created.’

Hm.

See what you’re doing there?

‘I’ve had millions of moments and situations that seemed utterly crucial and worrisome and HAD to be taken care of, and I can’t remember any of them. It’s the energy of urgency that makes it so compelling.’

Now THAT’S an insight.

The energy of urgency, the sense of fear, or pending danger.

It’s like the brilliant soundtrack to your movie.

Dramatic, engaging, all-encompassing.

But, still, a soundtrack.

What if you could see your moments of despair, the ones that keep returning all the time, more from that knowing?

Yes, it feels like shit, but that’s just part of the deal, it’s what makes the human experience so compelling.

It’s not the taste of the future, though.

Of course, these things will not change your life straight away.

But they might open a few doors.

Or a window.

And that’s a really good start.
