Coaching for the price of a house.

When I meet people for the first time during an explorative session, I often ask a question like:

‘What would it be worth to you if the pile of problems and challenges you just described wasn’t a problem anymore?’

They’ve told me how miserable their life is, how much is missing, and how much they long for freedom after many years of being in a bad place, so I want to create some perspective.

And the answer to my question is almost always the same:

‘Everything.’

They’d give everything.

An arm, a leg, two legs.

Everything.

Until I start talking fees.

All of a sudden, in many cases anyway, their initial idea and willingness of handing over their house in favor of an ever-expanding liberation for the rest of their lives, is gone.

Their deep longing for freedom is suddenly smashed by ‘reality’.

And I get that.

It’s a weird and unlogical discrepancy, but I get it.

My educated guess is that most people have a hard time believing that REAL and PROFOUND and LASTING change is even possible.

They want it, for sure (oh man they do), but they simply can’t comprehend it.

And that is why, as a coach, you can’t just tell them and explain it, but have to make it tangible and real, right there and then.

The change has to start in that first conversation.

The sweet scent of freedom needs to be there, because the felt potential of a bright and playful future can flush away the scepsis of the tired old mind.

It’s pretty simple to convince a person on an intellectual level, but that is not where true change happens.

It has to be deeper, much, much deeper.

So you want deep?

Let’s talk about going home.
