The bad news is:
You can’t change this moment.
What’s going on is what’s going on.
What’s experienced is what’s experienced.
And that includes judgments about it and resistance towards it.
They’re just part of this, not on top of it, not separate from it.
It’s just one happening, pretending to be many different things.
Even hating this is absolutely perfect, and included.
Just like wanting it to be over, looking around for solutions, picking up the book that always helps, or eating shit just to be distracted.
All of it.
And now for the good news:
You can’t change this moment.
But it will change anyway.
Where life seems to be right now, with you in it, feeling the way you feel including every detail: you didn’t do that, you didn’t make that, you didn’t fuck anything up.
Life brought you here, as a part of itself.
For no reason, so it’s not even ‘supposed to be this way’.
It couldn’t be prevented.
It couldn’t have gone in a different direction.
It’s absolutely brilliant (if it didn’t feel so personal, but that’s also part of it).
THIS is exactly, purely, completely, totally, and perfectly how this moment is.
Every. Single. Bit.
Including the clenched jaw, the fierce discomfort, and the urge to escape.
There’s nothing you could have done to prevent it.
Nothing you could have changed to push it somewhere else.
Imagine that.
No fault, no blame.
No you that should be punished.
Just this.
