It’s amazing.

One day you’ll have a sense of who you are beyond your thoughts.

There’s a direct notion, an intimate knowing that is not purely intellectual, a feeling of having found home that is ever so sweet.

You’re awakening!

And after this discovery, after recognizing who you truly are (who we ALL are, essentially), a specific problem will arise:

How the fuck are you going to explain it?

Especially if you want to be a spiritual teacher or coach or practitioner, you’ll have to find a way to talk about this, to help people find it and realize it, unless you’re able to transmit it in total silence.

Awakening is a multi-faceted miracle.

Consciousness is completely misunderstood.

And we, sweet, ignorant, upright-walking creatures of planet earth, know what we know (stuff, mostly) and we loooove our logic, and what goes beyond that we mostly distrust or discard.

So there you are, trying to sell that abstract shit.

How?

There are roughly two ways to go about it: you either use someone else’s teaching (read a couple of books, watch some videos, become a member of a specific school of thought), or you speak directly from your own felt understanding.

The first one is safe and simple.

You just repeat what other people said before.

You do your Eckhart, your Ramana Maharshi, your Michael Singer, or your Byron Katie, and off you go.

You grab their exercises, their meditations, their pointings, and take it from there.

It probably sounds interesting and deep enough, and there will always be people who get touched by it.

Voilà, pretty good deal.

The second way is more difficult and uncomfortable in the beginning, but it will last you a lifetime, and it will be great fun.

Learning to talk from the place we all share is your sustainable choice (if there even IS something like a choice, but let’s save that one for a rainy day).

When you first start doing it this way it probably feels weird and clumsy.

What seems so obvious and clear to you hasn’t found words or any form of expression yet.

It’s like explaining the feeling of love, or the sense of great beauty.

But when you start to realize that the words don’t really matter, a world of possibilities and opportunities will open up.

There are no limits to how you can convey the direct sense of our true nature.

When you’re consciously sinking back into that place, when you start wearing it like the most comfortable coat ever, and when you feel it within you, everything you say will be touched by it and carry its sweet smell.

It will probably take some time to get over your ideas about how to explain stuff and your urge to get it right, but it will be absolutely worth it.

And after a while the only responsibility that’s left, the only thing that’s really asked of you, is simply wearing your consciousness coat.

It’s amazing.
