I hear this all the time.
“I want to overcome my fear.”
Sure.
Me too, for many years.
Fear was holding me back, I thought.
My lack of confidence was sucking the life out of life.
And what I wanted, more than anything else, was to get rid of it forever.
So I get it.
I get the why and I get the desire.
But it’s the wrong way to go about this.
It’s just too much honor for a bunch of habits.
We are all deeply conditioned, so we respond in conditioned ways.
That means emotions and feelings will wash over you.
Sometimes you feel anxious.
Sometimes you feel furious.
Sometimes you feel lost.
Sometimes you feel elated.
You see the constant there?
And you know what that means?
You only, deeply have to realize, that everything is always
sometimes.
There’s nothing to really overcome because overcoming is the nature of life.
It’s called time.
And time means change.
And there’s not a thing you have to do about that, because it does itself.
Eventually whatever it is you want to get rid of because you hate or fear it so much simply loses its power, which means you overcome your resistance.
Life will still feel scary.
You will still feel lost.
But you will be okay anyway.
Almost always.
