I have no idea how those coaches and other pros do it.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The promises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The tantalizing suggestions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018Your best life ever!\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201810K a month doing what you love, guaranteed!\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018Stop [stuff you want to quit] forever and discover your true power!\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018Have [stuff you really want but never have] as much as you want!\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If I look back at thousands of coaching conversations and the results, I couldn\u2019t promise a single thing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not even being present, because I haven\u2019t always been, and I probably won\u2019t be, always.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today I realized how fed up I am with the superlative screaming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m not saying it\u2019s bad: it just fucking annoys me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Could it be that I am secretly afraid I can\u2019t live up to expectations and use this new resistance as a way to deal with that (or to NOT deal with that)?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I don\u2019t know.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maybe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maybe partially.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s just that it feels out of integrity to me to make any promises, even though I did that for a looooooong time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I simply don\u2019t know what happens after our conversations, although stuff usually gets lighter and brighter and more colorful and more real.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I don\u2019t even know what I\u2019ll have for lunch (30 minutes from now), or whether I feel furious or fun-filled or fucked up in 5 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And why are we advertising YOUR BEST LIFE EVER!!! all the time?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Is that really a promise, or is it just fashionable?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Is that a guaranteed result, or something that touches our deepest insecurity and the part where our dreams live, the part we don\u2019t really trust?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What does it actually mean to live YOUR BEST LIFE EVER?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Do people even reflect on that stuff when they post it or is it simply a must, a requirement, or a non-negotiable part of the selling process at this particular time in history?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Do we go there because everybody does, and because everybody seems to do better than we do?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And where will it end?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Should we promise success and glamour and fulfillment and abundance and great sex throughout all the future incarnations too, until the end of the endless universe?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Have YOUR BEST LIFE AND AFTERLIVES FOREVER AND EVER!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maybe that\u2019s what you want, and if that\u2019s true, I hope you get it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And maybe you\u2019re fucking tired of all the wanting, the measuring, the expecting, and the promising.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I know I am.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
