And there’s another one.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

These deep, helpful insights keep dropping.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What I realized is that fear is just a sensation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Like a dark wave, apparently slowing down for a while (TOO long, obviously), before it moves on and disappears again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s merely a feeling, a fleeting physical appearance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But it\u2019s not really connected to something that\u2019s not there yet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fear is just an energetic shift.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It FEELS important, like the first sign of things to come, but that\u2019s simply cleverly embedded in the experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It feels like \u2018Start looking around NOW!\u2019 and it feels like \u2018I have to run away RIGHT THIS FUKING MOMENT!\u2019, but it\u2019s not a warning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s not about the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How could it foresee and know?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fear is a standalone thing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fear is hardly ever a real and useful heads-up, something that\u2019s supposed to keep us from a pending disaster: it just feels like that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Uncomfortable, jittery, unclear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s purely a psychological trick with some powerful physical backup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fear is the feeling of not knowing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fear is the notion of possible nightmares and apparent monsters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They’re not there, waiting around the corner, but it can feel that way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It DOES feel that way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fear is an autonomous sensation, designed to get us focused, but it’s not a quick glimpse into the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Most often, fear is what the mind uses when it can\u2019t predict what will happen next, tomorrow, or years from now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And to keep us safe from that big dark hole in its predictions, it will scare us, so we stay where we are.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s actually really smart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It will try and keep us away from the unknown, no matter what that is or whether it even exists or not.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That\u2019s why it\u2019s so treacherous: it can grab our attention and occupy our awareness instantly, because it\u2019s created for emergencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not the normal stuff we can beautifully handle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not the small crises, the daily hurdles, or even the bigger questions that come up in life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The mind doesn\u2019t know.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If it can\u2019t predict the next scene, or the next situation, it will make us feel anxious.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It wants to protect us from its own incompetent ideas about the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So fear is mostly a mistake, an attempt to save us by a mind that doesn\u2019t know.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An amazing tool that is just seriously overused.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Don\u2019t hate it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n
