{"id":47982,"date":"2022-10-01T10:34:20","date_gmt":"2022-10-01T10:34:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/marnix.nl\/homepage\/welkom\/?p=47982"},"modified":"2022-10-01T10:35:07","modified_gmt":"2022-10-01T10:35:07","slug":"spiritual-ambition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/marnix.nl\/homepage\/welkom\/2022\/10\/01\/spiritual-ambition\/","title":{"rendered":"Spiritual ambition."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>I thought about sitting on a chair for two days.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Doing nothing, really.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As an experiment of sorts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An exploration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Without goals or things to attain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A way of being in Truth without distraction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Just sitting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Aware.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The simplicity of life going by.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Probably enduring the hardship of boredom and the struggling mind, and then finding the other side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sitting, sitting, sitting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nothing else.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And then afterward, maybe I could write about it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A blog, or a book.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So there actually WAS a goal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Haha.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is not the first time an idea like this came up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As a matter of fact, I\u2019ve seen thousands and thousands of these suggestions that smell like sincerity and waking up (at least to me).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Staying in a forest for a while.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sitting on the beach from morning to evening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Being in the mountains, in a small hut maybe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While fasting, of course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">No phone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">No stuff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And simply being with whatever comes up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Those things seem to be really attractive sometimes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And promising, too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As if a deeper wisdom will be revealed if I\u2019m just still enough.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Something that will catapult me into enlightenment forever.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Trying to find the essence of life, trying to get to the heart of it all, but in a very specific way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A spiritual way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Of stillness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hahaha.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The promise of a brighter, more fulfilling future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Slowing down and then telling everybody about it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The idea that being in a meditative state for a bit, is better or more valuable than making a sloppy peanut butter sandwich.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2018Look at me, I need nothing, I\u2019m not enslaved like the rest of the world!\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hahahahaha.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So cute \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">(Photo by @rick_gebhardt, for Unsplash)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I thought about sitting on a chair for two days.
