{"id":47685,"date":"2022-08-10T16:43:11","date_gmt":"2022-08-10T16:43:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/marnix.nl\/homepage\/welkom\/?p=47685"},"modified":"2022-08-10T16:43:18","modified_gmt":"2022-08-10T16:43:18","slug":"sloppy-romance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/marnix.nl\/homepage\/welkom\/2022\/08\/10\/sloppy-romance\/","title":{"rendered":"Sloppy romance."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>\u2018Live like it\u2019s your last day!\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2018Dance like nobody\u2019s watching!\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2018Time is precious, don\u2019t waste it!\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Oh, the romantic side of being human.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So precious.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So special.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If only life was more like Instagram.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And if only we\u2019d learn to remember those cute little quotes and inspirational thoughts and live by them and act on them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019d be floating in the streets on wings of love, singing songs of hope and glory, gently embracing every beautiful creature we\u2019d encounter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2018You\u2019re so beautiful\u2026\u2019 we\u2019d whisper, with a single tear rolling from our eye.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019d be kissing, and hugging, and holding hands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And then we\u2019d move on to the next amazing meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ahw.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Instead, we fight strangers on Twitter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We worry as if we\u2019re personally responsible for keeping the universe going.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And have no trouble fighting over a parking space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That sloppiness is our reality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We know so much.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We want so much.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We dream so much.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Life seems so simple, and sweet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sometimes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And then this asshole of a neighbor starts mowing his tiny fucking lawn with a big-ass motorized mower!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We have no clue how caught up we are in whatever narrative we get served.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One moment we\u2019re deeply touched, and the next we\u2019re totally outraged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Until the next round of Facebook Frenzy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Until we come across that inspirational pink post, with the graphic full of flowers and hearts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2018Live like it\u2019s your last day!\u2019 it says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And we nod in agreement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Great idea\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What\u2019s that fucking sound?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8212;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(Photo by @amyshamblen, for Unsplash)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u2018Live like it\u2019s your last day!\u2019 \u2018Dance like nobody\u2019s watching!\u2019 \u2018Time is precious, don\u2019t waste it!\u2019 Oh, the romantic side of being human.
