{"id":47538,"date":"2022-07-27T08:33:32","date_gmt":"2022-07-27T08:33:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/marnix.nl\/homepage\/welkom\/?p=47538"},"modified":"2022-07-27T08:33:38","modified_gmt":"2022-07-27T08:33:38","slug":"the-answer-is-everything","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/marnix.nl\/homepage\/welkom\/2022\/07\/27\/the-answer-is-everything\/","title":{"rendered":"The answer is everything."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>I\u2019ve talked about the meaning of life before.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For years the whole thing didn\u2019t mean anything to me and I couldn&#8217;t care less.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then I started to believe in cool, inspiring meanings for quite some time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After that, I realized that we can never really know.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And now I\u2019ve come to a new conclusion, or answer, to that philosophical question.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you ask me \u2018What\u2019s the meaning of life?\u2019, I\u2019d say<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Everything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Everything we can hope for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Everything we can believe in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Everything we can be afraid of.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Everything we can turn into popular Instagram quotes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And even the possibility to deny the existence of any meaning, like \u2018we\u2019re just born and then we die and it\u2019s simply fucked up\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The meaning of life is whatever we can imagine and believe in, and nothing is excluded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It&#8217;s infinite creation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s whatever feels lofty and delicious and inspiring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s whatever we can deem unfair and cruel and puzzling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And it\u2019s also whatever seems mundane, very ordinary, and not really a big deal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The meaning of life is whatever arises, whatever&#8217;s experienced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From loving the whole notion of a meaning, to profoundly hating it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From the idea of lessons we have to learn and karma and dharma, to the conclusion that it\u2019s all just darkness and suffering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That\u2019s what it is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Everything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8212;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(Photo by @petefogden, for Unsplash)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I\u2019ve talked about the meaning of life before.
