On Twitter, I have over 31,000 followers.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’m only telling you because it’s mind-blowing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s mind-blowing because most of those people, almost ALL of them, actually, don’t seem to give a shit about my posts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In most cases I simply share my blogs, and on average I get around 2 likes per Tweet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yup, 2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And only 1 out of 5 Tweets (or blogs) sparks a comment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So you could easily say that there’s not much engagement, huhu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That I’m doing something terribly wrong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Or: that I’m wasting my talent and time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why don’t I try and tweak the content, so more of those 31K lovely people will start dropping likes and comments on me?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why don’t I try and leverage more of that unique position that took me years to attain?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have no fucking idea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let me try some explanations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It seems that I don’t really care about producing stuff that most people will like, if I don’t like it myself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It seems that I simply love writing stuff that’s interesting and invigorating to me, that inspires me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It seems that most people are just stupid, and I’m lost in a niche.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Haha.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maybe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From a commercial standpoint, this is absolutely rubbish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And sometimes that really bugs me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sometimes I hate that I can’t be more mainstream, more easily digestible, and more fast food-like when it comes to writing, because it would probably bring me a lot more eyeballs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But I really can’t.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Well, I could, in theory, with all my experience and knowledge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But I really, really can’t.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
