I\u2019m a people pleaser.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a way, at least.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now I\u2019m not gonna serve you some popular psychology crap about what it means and I\u2019m also not going to tell you how I overcame it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because I didn\u2019t, and there\u2019s a good reason for it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I like pleasing people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a fairly dedicated but non-obsessive way, I do what I can to make things pleasurable and joyful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I don\u2019t see that as a problem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I don\u2019t consider it to be a flaw, a defect, or something I should work on or change or hide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It just feels good to make people feel good.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But here\u2019s the thing: I please people exactly the way I want to please people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There\u2019s no denying my own needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The pleasing is completely on my terms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It just looks like I know what it takes to bring a good vibe to a situation, and I happen to like good vibes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I seem to have a keen sense of changing moods, and I like to bring that into the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

People don\u2019t have to agree with it, of course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It happens quite regularly that my radiating smile and naughty, shiny eyes go completely unnoticed by people who are lost in complexity and stress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That\u2019s okay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My people pleasing is more like throwing around a bunch of colorful flowers from a basket that never runs out of flowers, so it can\u2019t fail or go wrong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

People don\u2019t have to please me back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They don\u2019t have to like it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
