{"id":47231,"date":"2022-06-28T14:29:47","date_gmt":"2022-06-28T14:29:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/marnix.nl\/homepage\/welkom\/?p=47231"},"modified":"2022-06-28T14:29:54","modified_gmt":"2022-06-28T14:29:54","slug":"are-we-in-the-same-world","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/marnix.nl\/homepage\/welkom\/2022\/06\/28\/are-we-in-the-same-world\/","title":{"rendered":"Are we in the same world?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>When people say<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2018the world is a dangerous place\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">or<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2018what the world needs right now\u2026\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">or<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2018I want to change the world\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">or<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2018the world is a mess\u2019,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">we mostly tend to agree, or disagree.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And then we take it from there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But do we ever stop to consider what it even means, \u2018the world\u2019?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What does it refer to?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Is your world the same as my world (answer: nope)?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Is the world you experience in the morning, the same as the one you are a part of in the evening, or the next day?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">How can the world collapse?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">How can something put your world upside down?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Where does the world end?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Oh, and, uh, where does it begin?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And how can we use a single word for countless different experiences?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Maybe I\u2019m making this needlessly complicated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But that\u2019s what\u2019s going on, in my world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">(Photo by @benwhitephotography, for Unsplash)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>When people say \u2018the world is a dangerous place\u2019 or \u2018what the world needs right now\u2026\u2019 or \u2018I want to change the world\u2019 or \u2018the world is a mess\u2019, we mostly tend to agree, or disagree.
