Let’s generalize a little.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Everybody wants attention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even if you think you\u2019re just sharing your life because you simply want to share your life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even if you believe that you don\u2019t need likes or other forms of digital appreciation (because you still do).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s not sharing if nobody\u2019s reading or watching it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That would be more like throwing bottled letters into the sea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We want an audience, even just a small one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And that\u2019s the problem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not wanting an audience, but finding an audience that’s not already heavily preoccupied with all the posts from everybody else who\u2019s looking for an audience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There\u2019s too much stuff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Way, way too much.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And each time you blink your eyes or take a breath there are a thousand new blogs, one hundred more podcasts, and at least a thousand more videos on YouTube.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are just too many people pushing their lives and ideas and offers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Too many platforms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And too much at stake FOR those platforms, so they do whatever they can to keep us hooked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When I scrolled through my Instagram feed a couple of minutes ago, I felt SO FUCKING tired all of a sudden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All these lovely people trying to put something out there that makes them stand out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All the work that goes into creating that shit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An endless amount of men and women looking for eyeballs (that\u2019s what marketing people call it).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019ve seen my attention spread thinner and thinner and thinner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s like I\u2019m becoming immune to all that\u2019s out there and growing every second, and the idea of trying to keep up this ridiculous race not just as a spectator but also as a creator, by constantly providing new stuff and more exciting stuff and the latest fashionable stuff, makes me want to scream and hurt baby seals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s funny because I\u2019ve written and posted a shitload of blogs in the last couple of weeks, day after day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But the reason for that is mostly that they just keep coming up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Creation is my thing, so feeling deeply inspired all day long is just great, and I totally thrive on that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But I\u2019m doing it organically.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And that seems to be the only reason I have left.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m really fucking fed up with the idea of staying relevant on different platforms, trying to beat the algorithms, posting at specific times, and tagging others so I can push for popularity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There\u2019s no end to this fucking madness, and I\u2019m not criticizing the urge to post and share and be seen and heard, but I AM pretty much done with the uselessness of it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

No matter how many amazing posts or videos you share, there are a billion more out there, so you have to keep on producing if you want to keep up and stay in the lead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And there will ALWAYS come a time when you’re no longer there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Every writer, every creator, and each member of every platform wants a piece of the pie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There’s nothing wrong with that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But it seems that I\u2019m no longer willing to play that stupid game anymore (at least for now).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s simply unwinnable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n
