{"id":46976,"date":"2022-06-05T09:30:01","date_gmt":"2022-06-05T09:30:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/marnix.nl\/homepage\/welkom\/?p=46976"},"modified":"2022-06-05T09:30:09","modified_gmt":"2022-06-05T09:30:09","slug":"a-bunch-of-beliefs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/marnix.nl\/homepage\/welkom\/2022\/06\/05\/a-bunch-of-beliefs\/","title":{"rendered":"A bunch of beliefs."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>We need to believe.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It makes us human.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Literally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We need to believe we know.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We need to believe we get it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We need to believe we have a clue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What love means.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What trust means.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What connection means.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What we mean, if anything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Whether we\u2019re important or not (at all).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What&#8217;s good, what\u2019s bad., and what&#8217;s in between.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And where we seem to be on that scale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Millions and millions and millions of beliefs have found each other to form our view on life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We FEEL it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It seems so much more than thinking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So much deeper than made-up and learned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We were taught to believe, and endless collections of second-hand thoughts were gathered and trusted as new, bigger, more important beliefs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They became our lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our grievances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our pride.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our future, and our past.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Everything is an ingenious construct, and the experience of existence is merely a dazzling and dizzying amount of thoughts that came together and solidified.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We don\u2019t recognize them as such, because they\u2019ve become who we are.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We are thoughts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We are beliefs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That\u2019s why we\u2019re all different, that\u2019s why this works so well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We learned to forget what we\u2019ve learned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And it became what we call life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A big pile of beliefs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019re amazing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Awesome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wonderful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But absolutely clueless.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8212;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(Photo by @arstyy, for Unsplash)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We need to believe.
