This might be helpful.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s another fascinating insight I just had.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Have you ever noticed that when there\u2019s a ‘substantial’ problem in your life, it literally seems to be the ONLY thing that’s going on?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s like the problem has occupied all available space in your awareness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Normally there are a gazillion things going on at once, in constant motion, tiny and small and bigger and huge, in colorful diversity, but now there\u2019s nothing except the problem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And it\u2019s sucking away every last bit of oxygen and optimism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Your whole life looks like the problem (with some small and insignificant things floating around it, but they\u2019re hardly visible).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s crazy!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That\u2019s why problems are so nasty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They seem way bigger than they actually are.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They tend to blow up and blow up until all of your sunlight is hidden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Until nothing is left but the problem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Everywhere you look, there it is, in all its excruciating nastiness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Left, right, below you, on the other side of the street.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You\u2019re almost living IN your problem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The world is covered in problem sauce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You feel the problem in your stomach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You feel it in your future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You feel it poisoning your thinking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And it\u2019s blocking everything else, stuff that normally lifts you up, stuff that helps you see the bigger picture, stuff that will probably be there even after the problem has been solved and forgotten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I guess this is an evolutionary thing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thousands of years ago it was probably really useful if a problem got stuck in your awareness and forced itself on you until you figured out what to do about it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It wouldn’t surprise me if there was a time in history when any unsolved problem meant sudden death or losing a couple of limbs, at least.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And that system still works.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So it can still feel that way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Totally crucial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ultimately vital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Menacing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dreadful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And of the utmost urgency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But when was the last time you REALLY had a problem like that?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n
