{"id":46708,"date":"2022-05-10T10:26:03","date_gmt":"2022-05-10T10:26:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/marnix.nl\/homepage\/welkom\/?p=46708"},"modified":"2022-05-10T10:33:23","modified_gmt":"2022-05-10T10:33:23","slug":"life-is-not-a-bunch-of-fucking-quotes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/marnix.nl\/homepage\/welkom\/2022\/05\/10\/life-is-not-a-bunch-of-fucking-quotes\/","title":{"rendered":"Life is not a bunch of fucking quotes."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong><em>\u2018If you can\u2019t be at peace right NOW,<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>you\u2019ll never be at peace,<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>because now is all there is.\u2019<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I just made that up, in the shower.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Or, well, it POPPED up (of course).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And it felt very true.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also quite impressive and deep, huh?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But who fucking cares?!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Life is not an Instagram account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Statements like this are nothing but pointers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They may feel extremely accurate and powerful and beautiful, or totally abstract and stupid and naive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And even if they seem very true and very wise, they don\u2019t really leave you with much actionable stuff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It doesn\u2019t work that way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Happiness is not the result of hard work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Freedom is not a medal for your efforts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Joy is not waiting for you at the top of the mountain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Life is whatever seems to happen, and nothing is excluded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nothing, nothing, nothing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So what can we do with that?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Where\u2019s the control, the molding, the bending, the having it the way we want, the Law of Attraction, the hustling?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yeah.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All of our sufferings come from resistance, from opposing what is, from the pain of unmet dreams and desires.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There\u2019s not a manual for this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Self-help books are made of life, just like anything out there aimed at improvement (or anything at all), and there is nothing they can add to what is already absolutely perfect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Life is already life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It can\u2019t be better, although it can FEEL better.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But then you\u2019ll have to be at peace, now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Haha (sorry).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8212;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(Photo by @theblowup, for Unsplash)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u2018If you can\u2019t be at peace right NOW, you\u2019ll never be at peace, because now is all there is.\u2019 I just made that up, in the shower.
