It sucks to feel insecure.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

To feel deeply inadequate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Powerless.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Uninteresting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Overwhelmed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Weak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And lesser than.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All those fucking things.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Standing there in agony and anxiety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Feeling like you\u2019re not up to the task, whatever the task is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You’ve been there, right?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oh, how we wish to be confident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Confident!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Strong, powerful, unwavering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Never afraid of anything, striding through life like giants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Right?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nah.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019d say we’re very much misled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We mostly believe that confidence is the absence of insecurity, nervousness, and doubt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Always powerful and mighty, like a fast river or an ancient oak tree.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Something we have to grow into, to conquer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But I don\u2019t think that\u2019s true.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And it\u2019s also not a helpful pointer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Confidence is not a specific state of mind or a way to deal with discomfort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Confidence is knowing that you\u2019re more than a fleeting sensation, whatever it is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s absolutely unconditional.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s like carrying whatever happens for as long as it wants to be carried.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You don\u2019t have to be tough, stoic, or cold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You don\u2019t even have to consider yourself to be confident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Confidence happens when you\u2019re hardly engaged with your thinking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s life flowing naturally and mostly untainted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s an experience of ease and uncomplicatedness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And it\u2019s not really a big deal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Most children express it when they\u2019re still young, this authentic attitude of not giving a fuck, and they don\u2019t even know what it is or what it means.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s the grown-ups who suffer from it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The human beings who seem to know everything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Confidence means not being captured by comparing or judging and all other learned mental activities that put us in a particular position in relation to others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Insecurity is nothing but being lost in a full mind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s just a lot of noise, taken very seriously.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You don\u2019t have to learn to be confident, to try and look confident, dress confident, or talk confidently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All of that just takes a very natural thing and turns it into a performance or an achievement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s not.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Confidence is our true nature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You don\u2019t have to develop it or earn it or fight for it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’m 100% sure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n
