{"id":46659,"date":"2022-05-02T09:25:48","date_gmt":"2022-05-02T09:25:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/marnix.nl\/homepage\/welkom\/?p=46659"},"modified":"2022-05-02T09:25:51","modified_gmt":"2022-05-02T09:25:51","slug":"looking-for-joy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/marnix.nl\/homepage\/welkom\/2022\/05\/02\/looking-for-joy\/","title":{"rendered":"Looking for joy."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>\u201cWhat brings you joy?\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That\u2019s what she asked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An interesting, relevant question.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Looking for the cause behind the effect, like we\u2019re so used to doing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And if you find out, you can have more, cause more, and create more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hooray!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There\u2019s something else at play, way beyond A plus B means C.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019re overlooking something that is very relevant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Because it seems to me that joy is nothing but the direct experience of aliveness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s life itself, without the burden of the mind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s life itself, bubbling, energizing, like light roaring through your body, or a fresh, natural high.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s what is and always has been, if we\u2019re not looking for improvement or trying to get someplace else.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s always there, in the background, part of us, IN us, but we\u2019re like oranges believing to be nothing but peel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Joy is the juice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We are made of juice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I know that\u2019s hard to believe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I know you\u2019re exquisitely trained to look for causes and reasons and solutions and answers and ways to make things happen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I know you\u2019ve bought into the idea that certain things and circumstances bring you joy, so you absolutely need them to experience it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s not how it really works, though.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The most joyful human creatures in the world are children, and they don\u2019t need anything to make that happen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They just are.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Life IS joy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, there\u2019s the answer to the question:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Life brings joy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You are the juice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2014<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(Photo by @tangerinenewt, for Unsplash<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cWhat brings you joy?\u201d That\u2019s what she asked.
