I can still remember the day I knew how to swim.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The moment it happened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The shift.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before that, I had learned the techniques and practiced them over and over again, but the trust was lacking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And then it was there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The water feeling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Knowing for sure that I wouldn\u2019t drown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was like owning the water.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The same water that, just before that moment, seemed to refuse to carry me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The water I didn\u2019t know how to relax in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But in that moment I was finally admitted to the Secret Society of Swimmers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And now it was so totally normal, so logical, so simple.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From now on, all I had to do was work with it, stay with it, and get comfortable with it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But I was fine no matter what.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I often think about that moment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A dramatic change that can\u2019t be taught directly, and a change that is irreversible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because once you know, you just know.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It has become a part of you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s in you now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recognizing your true nature is a lot like that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Spiritual awakening (just another way to describe it) is very much the same.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It can seem impossible, not for you, and totally out of reach, until the shift is suddenly there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can drown and feel lost all your life, until you realize that you are safe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That you can actually float.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And from that moment on, the water of life can be treacherous and rough and wild, but you will never forget what you\u2019ve learned to recognize.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After that shift, you simply know.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And all you have to do is get comfortable with it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n
