Today, when I visited YouTube, I felt really uncomfortable.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have been hanging out there for many months now, mostly enjoying the shit out of it, but it wasn\u2019t the same this morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And then I got it:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

YouTube had slowly changed from a source of entertainment and inspiration and somewhat innocent distraction, to a place of constant comparison, lack, and judgment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s like every video is telling me there is still something to learn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To upgrade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is my self-created eclectic jungle of topics, artificially molded into a never-ending starting point that keeps me hooked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Every video leads to a new one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Every meditation ends with one more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

10 things all stoics do is conveniently followed by 15 things I can learn from billionaires.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

YouTube can be just a gigantic pile of videos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But I guess for many people it\u2019s much, much more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

YouTube is either the engaging, sweet promise of a better life, or the soothing channel that takes your attention away from your miserable present one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And although you can definitely learn a lot from visiting this limitless library of creation, it\u2019s also there to distract and numb the fuck out of you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I don’t really like that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s like you are REALLY hungry but only get presented with an endless amount of menus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You feel never really feel satisfied, because you never really get fed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s like McDonald\u2019s for the mind, always promising but ultimately disappointing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So I guess that\u2019s what I felt, today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dissatisfied.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Empty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stuck in a clickbait loop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fuck.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n
