{"id":46449,"date":"2022-03-19T10:51:08","date_gmt":"2022-03-19T10:51:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/marnix.nl\/homepage\/welkom\/?p=46449"},"modified":"2022-03-19T10:54:38","modified_gmt":"2022-03-19T10:54:38","slug":"the-flipside-of-never-enough","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/marnix.nl\/homepage\/welkom\/2022\/03\/19\/the-flipside-of-never-enough\/","title":{"rendered":"The flip side of &#8216;never enough&#8217;."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>After 54 years of<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Self-help books<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Therapy<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Training<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Coaching<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Medication<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Healing<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Exercising<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Writing<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meditating<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Talking<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Trying<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Changing<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Or deliberately letting go,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I can still not just sit still without doing anything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There is ALWAYS a purpose, an idea, a suggestion, or a goal behind anything I do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is very easy to make sitting still into a thing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The next challenge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ultimate proof of not needing anything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Working really hard to Just Be.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Buy an app.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Buy the books.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Buy a course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Start your 10,000 hours journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Just to scratch the itch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I am so fucking restless.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So full of broken promises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So loaded with unfulfilled ideas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The mind simply doesn\u2019t give up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And I could easily make THAT into a thing (and I tried).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The pain and the dread and the impatience are in the realization of how impossible it is to satisfy this hungry system, ever.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It will never be enough for a mind that is only looking outwards to keep itself relevant, over and over and over again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That is the bad news.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And it\u2019s also the good news.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Because if you can\u2019t win, you can start to enjoy the game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And there is absolutely no way to lose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8212;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(Photo @polarmermaid, for Unsplash)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>After 54 years of Self-help books Therapy Training Coaching Medication Healing Exercising Writing Meditating Talking Trying Changing Or deliberately letting go, I can still not just sit still without doing anything.
