It\u2019s like a dull emptiness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A pulling desire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It calls for your attention and if you don\u2019t give it, it will creep into your system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It will grow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It will make you angry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Or sad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Or frustrated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Or it will result in a devilish mix of all of those things.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It will try shit to get you to go where it wants you to go.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To have the drink.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To smoke the smoke.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To pick up the phone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To flip through the self-help book.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To find the distraction you so desperately need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Craving is interesting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s a physically emotional hunger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s like a painless pain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A growing, endless hole that is also a wave.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It will scream and shout, and it will beg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And if you don\u2019t give in, it will fill you up, more and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pushing you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pulling you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Threatening you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Until you give in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Until you\u2019re left with a temporary peace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Until the beast has retreated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just for a while.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But there\u2019s no beast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

No hole.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

No need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There\u2019s just an experience, a neat little loop that feels gigantic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There\u2019s just a well-trained system, urging you to behave.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There\u2019s a habit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That\u2019s all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A dull emptiness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let it pass.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let it be.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Be.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
