{"id":46277,"date":"2022-02-13T11:04:17","date_gmt":"2022-02-13T11:04:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/marnix.nl\/homepage\/welkom\/?p=46277"},"modified":"2022-02-13T11:04:20","modified_gmt":"2022-02-13T11:04:20","slug":"shitty-stories","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/marnix.nl\/homepage\/welkom\/2022\/02\/13\/shitty-stories\/","title":{"rendered":"Shitty stories."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>You wake up.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It starts okay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For a couple of seconds, life is just life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Neutral.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Spacious.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But soon The Voice speaks up and says<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis is going to be a shitty day.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And the body immediately responds with chemicals, flooding the experience, supporting the suggestion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You feel like shit before the morning has even started.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You feel like shit for no reason.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You feel like shit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Shit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And when you try to think about nice things, better things, hopeful things, everything you can come up with gets coated with shitty negativity sauce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You feel like shit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Life is shit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You are shit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Everything will always be shit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Right?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nah, of course not.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And you know it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Because you\u2019ve been there, many, many times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Voice is a really, really lousy predictor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s just really good at capturing your attention and producing self-fulfilling prophecies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It doesn\u2019t know a thing about the future, but if you are not aware and awake enough, it will create the future FOR you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s like a fortune-teller predicting a really bad headache before smashing your skull with a hammer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Feeling like shit doesn\u2019t mean anything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s just a mood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Moods don\u2019t mean anything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They\u2019re just enticing stories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They are just there, for a bit, because the mind made them up, and then they leave.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They always do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There\u2019s no shitty future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And if you just get on with the day, if you stick the mood under your arm like a naughty puppy or a sobbing kid and do your stuff and live your life, the mood will shift.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It will leave, vanish, disappear, go up in smoke.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Like always.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>No big deal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>No shit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8212;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(Photo by @chrishenryphoto, for Unsplash)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>You wake up.
