{"id":46199,"date":"2022-02-05T10:12:40","date_gmt":"2022-02-05T10:12:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/marnix.nl\/homepage\/welkom\/?p=46199"},"modified":"2022-02-05T10:12:43","modified_gmt":"2022-02-05T10:12:43","slug":"10-things-happy-people-do-who-cares","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/marnix.nl\/homepage\/welkom\/2022\/02\/05\/10-things-happy-people-do-who-cares\/","title":{"rendered":"10 things happy people do: who cares?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>When it comes to happiness, we&#8217;re doing it wrong.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Like: 180 degrees wrong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Because most of us believe that happiness is what comes after activity and action and grinding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We have to behave and think in a specific way to earn it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Happiness is regarded to be the end result, the icing on the cake, but it&#8217;s the exact opposite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Happiness is where it should start.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And it already does (and you&#8217;ll find out soon).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are a seeker for happiness and peace of mind and ease of living, you have probably worked your way through tons of books and blogs about these topics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And they are always prescriptive and highly logical: happy\/relaxed\/confident people do this and this and this, so you should do it too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Which makes sense if you look at it from the general perspective of learning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It makes sense to learn from the best when it comes to mastering the piano, basketball, painting, karate, or whatever skills that require repetition and commitment and maybe some talent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hard work often delivers at least some results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But let me ask you this: how come small children already know how to be happy, and creative, and content, and full of wonder and confidence and playfulness?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Why is it that these amazing little creatures have all the traits we start longing for later in life, and have them in limitless amounts?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Do babies read blogs and bestsellers when we are sleeping, is there a thing where toddlers secretly get up at night and watch YouTube for hours to learn about mindfulness and success and happiness?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You see where I am getting at?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Happiness is what we are born with.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It&#8217;s our natural capacity to be engaged with life, without knowing that we are engaged with life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Without trying.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Without obsessing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is who we are before we learn to doubt who we are.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So happiness is about unlearning, not learning more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It&#8217;s about reconnecting to the state of being we were born with.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It&#8217;s already there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Happy people simply realize this and live this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And the only reason why they do the things they do is because they are happy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It&#8217;s not the other way around.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>When it comes to happiness, we&#8217;re doing it wrong.
