Maybe I should become the next anti-guru.<\/p>\n
Maybe I should wash windows in Bangalore.<\/p>\n
Maybe I should change my name to MaybeIShould.<\/p>\n
Maybe.<\/p>\n
Because: who knows?<\/p>\n
How do we know ANYTHING for sure?<\/p>\n
Before I learned to peacefully relax in ignorance, not knowing was my biggest fear.<\/p>\n
If there was a corner somewhere, I wasn\u2019t wiling to go there and take a peek.<\/p>\n
Safety was my first priority.<\/p>\n
But it\u2019s not knowledge or hoarding facts that we truly want: it\u2019s the idea of control.<\/p>\n
If we just know enough, we\u2019ll be able to outsmart life.<\/p>\n
To be ahead of the game.<\/p>\n
We may be able to avoid disasters and heartaches and (emotional) bankruptcy.<\/p>\n
We can cut corners, or even live in a world without them.<\/p>\n
Right.<\/p>\n
Of course the beautiful irony is that by putting our trust in knowledge and nothing but knowledge, we start to fear anxiety, and get controlled by our obsession with control.<\/p>\n
Whatever it is we don\u2019t know, freaks us out.<\/p>\n
And eventually we\u2019ll realize that The Big Unknown is exactly what life is about.<\/p>\n
Beauty is temporary, just like everything else.<\/p>\n
Safety is just a soothing idea from the mind.<\/p>\n
We can\u2019t avoid anything (and we shouldn\u2019t want to): there\u2019s no such thing.<\/p>\n
Things either happen, or they don\u2019t.<\/p>\n
You score a goal, or you don\u2019t (there\u2019s no such thing as \u2018an almost goal\u2019 or \u2018a near goal\u2019).<\/p>\n
You live fully and with your heart wide open and explore every single corner that is out there waiting there for you, or you don\u2019t.<\/p>\n
Maybe you should stop wanting to know, right now.<\/p>\n
Maybe.<\/p>\n
