Not getting into a fight.<\/p>\n
Not interrupting a passionate sharing.<\/p>\n
Not wanting to be right.<\/p>\n
Not setting up a guilt-trap.<\/p>\n
Not bringing up the stuff somebody forgot to do six months ago.<\/p>\n
Not making another person responsible for your happiness.<\/p>\n
Not flipping the finger in traffic.<\/p>\n
Not sending the angry text.<\/p>\n
Not getting carried away by your unconscious urge to feel dissatisfied.<\/p>\n
Just not doing it.<\/p>\n
The thing is: it doesn\u2019t really feel that powerful, or honorable, or holy.<\/p>\n
There\u2019ll be no praise.<\/p>\n
You don\u2019t get credits for it, because nobody will notice what you didn\u2019t do.<\/p>\n
And yet they will.<\/p>\n
They will.<\/p>\n
Because they will somehow feel the space you allowed them.<\/p>\n
They will know that you didn\u2019t push them into something, didn\u2019t blame them, criticized them.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s like offering a gentle vacuum of peace.<\/p>\n
Non-reactivity.<\/p>\n
Do it more.<\/p>\n
