One of the things I didn\u2019t know:<\/span><\/h4>\n<\/div>\n

Silence is not the absence of noise.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
Silence is the neutral, vibrant stage of each and every human play.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
The modest background for all temporary happenings.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
Never changing, hardly ever noticed.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
If life would be a large string of musical pieces, silence is like the concert hall.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
You don\u2019t realize it when you\u2019re emerged in the experience, but without it no experience would be possible.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
Silence might be the most important part of everything we will ever be aware of, even if we\u2019re never aware of silence itself.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
It\u2019s there but it is ALWAYS there, so we simply don\u2019t notice.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
We only see and hear and feel the things that change.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
The temporary stuff.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
The attention-grabbing shit.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
When I was still very much obsessed with my mental content, I couldn\u2019t hear it.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
When I was trying very, very hard to find silence (which I probably referred to as peace), I always overlooked its closeness, I dismissed its intense unobtrusive intimacy.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
But it\u2019s so obvious.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
So clear when you know where to find it, where to feel it.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
When you know how to drop out of the ever changing content, and find the only constant.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
When you tune out of the music for a moment and get to connect to the soundless energetic hum of life.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
Silence is the blank canvas of the universe.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
A built-in resting place.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
And it\u2019s always there.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
