I call it the Frozen Future Syndrome.<\/strong><\/h4>\n<\/div>\n
Many people suffer from it.<\/div>\n
It\u2019s when we fear a certain outcome and get innocently lost in the devastating idea that it will always stay like that.<\/div>\n
Or when we\u2019re thinking about something, can\u2019t grasp the implications of the process, and experience the total dread of that incompetence.<\/div>\n
We don\u2019t do it on purpose or even consciously: it just happens.<\/div>\n
We might have it when we want to write a book but the mere idea of how many hours it will take undermines all the inspiration.<\/div>\n
When somebody we love suddenly leaves us and we know for sure that we will feel sad for the rest of our lives.<\/div>\n
When we fear going bankrupt, and we simply don\u2019t see that there\u2019s a whole life after that, with billions of lessons and opportunities.<\/div>\n
It\u2019s when we haven\u2019t got a clue about the consequences of a certain situation or event, that our mind gets stuck in a specific scene.<\/div>\n
We can\u2019t see the steps that will be taken, the solutions that will arise, the answers we will find along the way.<\/div>\n
The only thing we see is:<\/div>\n
The Frozen Future.<\/div>\n
Lovesick, forever.<\/em><\/div>\n
Bankrupt, forever.<\/em><\/div>\n
Fighting our cravings, forever.<\/em><\/div>\n
Studying the piano or writing that damn book, forever.<\/em><\/div>\n
Being stuck in this particular mood, forever.<\/em><\/div>\n
And our minds don\u2019t really like this kind of eternity.<\/div>\n
Although it\u2019s all made-up in the now, and all ever changing.<\/div>\n
So don\u2019t forget: we never know.<\/div>\n
And that\u2019s what makes life pretty awesome.<\/div>\n
