It’s\nextremely unsexy, but I’m dead serious.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If\nthere\u2019s one thing you should cultivate, it\u2019s \u2018the capacity to accept or\ntolerate delay, problems, or suffering without becoming annoyed or anxious\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Patience\nmeans letting go of your (secret) agenda, your personal blueprint or timetable\nof future happenings, and be prepared to let life take all the time in the\nuniverse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Because\nit will, and it will almost never be according to your plans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Patience\nbuilds new worlds, it really does.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There\u2019s\nproof!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I\nshowed patience when I learned to be a copywriter, and had no trouble investing\ndecades of my life into mastering the art of commercial writing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Patience\nkept me going after I quit drinking completely (and smoking, and using drugs,\nand blaming the world for my misery, and professional victimhood, and eating\n5,000-calorie pizzas).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And\nright now, while letting life show me how to be a first class coach, I take it\none step at a time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It\nis the backbone of everything worthwhile in life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Relationships,\nprofessional skills, writing books, cultivating a bonsai tree, earning a black\nbelt in whatever, becoming a Supercoach or the best shoeshine polisher in\nhistory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But\nhere\u2019s the bad news:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To\nlearn how to be patient\u2026 you have to be patient.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There\u2019s\nno shortcut.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Patience\nbuilds patience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The\ngood news?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
You\nonly need a small bit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A\nteeny-tiny bit of patience is like the little snowball at the top of the\nmountain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
