There\u2019s no way I can step outside my worldview and borrow yours for a while.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
There\u2019s no way I can observe the planet with different eyes than mine (eyes that see what they think, not what they see).<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
It\u2019s simply impossible.<\/em><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n And even if I tried really, REALLY hard to see what you see, it would still be my interpretation, my idea of your view.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n And how would I ever know how close to you I\u2019d be?<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n We can never not see how we see things, and they don\u2019t even look very personal or unique (because, well, we see what we see, right? It\u2019s there in front of us, come on, no doubt about it!).<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n There\u2019s no way out this experiential conundrum, or is there?<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Well, there is, sort of.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n We can be conscious of the fact that we can\u2019t see what others see, and that consciousness is really powerful stuff.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Because realizing I\u2019m the only one in the world who experiences life exactly the way I do, tells me you must have the same thing going on.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n The same subjective stuff, pretending to be deeply objective.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Different \u2018truths\u2019, happening in real time, unrecognizable for each other.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n It means that nobody is ever right.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n It means I am as full of shit as you are, and we can laugh about it.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n It means I can love what you hate and vice versa, and it\u2019s okay because I don\u2019t hang on to it the way I did, even though it looks as solid and true as it does.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n What a relief.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n So much space.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Let\u2019s float.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Float, just the way you like it.<\/p>\r\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" You can\u2019t see what you don\u2019t see.
