This powerful businesswoman is doing\nreally well, having a lot of crazy insights, and the anxiety around her fresh\nrelationship that was the reason she contacted me, vanished completely during\nour first session.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I\u2019ve just asked her if there\u2019s\nanything else she\u2019d like to work on, and this was her answer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2018\u2026 learn how to delegate more, and\nlearn how to say NO to new projects.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It sounds like a reasonable request,\na thing you could actually change successfully by talking about borders and\nguarding personal perimeters, by setting strict agendas and install apps and\nwrite down intentions and maybe even do some mindful stuff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But then it occurs to me to ask a simple\nquestion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2018Do you like working hard?\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Without hesitation she agrees\nfiercely, her eyes start to twinkle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2018I love it\u2019 she says, \u2018I LOVE the\nprofessional juggling, the creativity involved, the buzz, the joy of the\nchallenge, the Newness!\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2018Cool\u2019, I reply. \u2018So why would you\nwant to change anything about that?\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She falls silent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I go on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2018Do you get annoyed a lot lately, are\nyou having a hard time relaxing in the weekend, do you have trouble sleeping,\nare you feeling exhausted, do you experience physical pain?\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2018No, no, no, no, and no. But people\nalways tell me I take on too much work and then they look concerned…\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2018But are they talking about how THEY\nwould feel about having your workload, or is it too much for YOU?\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She shakes her head and smiles even\nmore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2018Nobody has ever asked me that\nbefore!\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I smile back at her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2018Well, I guess you might be suffering\nfrom severe enthusiasm!\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n
